Midigama has the closest popular surf breaks to Surf South Sri Lanka’s “The Lions Rest” accommodation. About 3km. There are two surf points – Rams’s Right and Lazy Left. It is a quiet and friendly fishing village; there is no localism down here, it’s pretty chilled and we surf there from dawn till dusk. You get some lovely clean barrels from a left and right hander, up to 6ft on a good day and a 400m ride.
Great for beginners and intermediate just watch out for live coral, sharp rocks and sea urchins. Great beach for snorkeling too as there is a wide variety of tropical fish, some are more tasty than others.
